In addition to our pastors (who are also called “Teaching Elders”), qualified members of the church are elected to the office of Ruling Elder. Together they form the “Session” of the church, which oversees all aspects of church life, including worship services, staff, ministry initiatives and the church’s finances.

MAYO WHALEY

Mayo and his wife, Bethany, married in 2011. Together, they have two young daughters, Florence and Frances. Mayo spent a decade working in the film industry before transitioning to a career in construction, where he now helps build and remodel homes. Since 2012, the Whaley family has been deeply rooted in Christ Church. They moved to Santa Fe on a Saturday, and attended Christ Church on Sunday, where they’ve been ever since. Mayo served as a deacon for three years, and he and Bethany lead a community group. Mayo considers it a privilege to serve at Christ Church as an elder and is continually inspired by the incredible ways God is moving, not only within the church but also throughout the city of Santa Fe.
